There is nothing I miss more than the old times
Back when everything was as smooth as poetic rhymes
When everything fit as perfect puzzle pieces
You were the peanut butter to my reese’s
The milk to my cookie
We made plans, but we were always playing hooky
Back when the days were easy
And it was only car rides that made us queazy
Car rides to no particular destination
We didn't think, no hesitation
Always on our feet like “verb, its what you do”
And I would do anything as long as I was with you
Just anything to see your smile’s dimple
Back when life was nice and simple
When there was no society telling us how to act
And knowing that tomorrow isn't a guaranteed fact
Yesterday is gone, lying in the rear mirror
I just wish that we were still there
