Undeservedly Given

I see you lying there broken in the street

On your face I see that look of defeat

You say that you are weak and cannot go on

That the game is over and evilness has won

That you have been triumphed, what a tragedy

And the tears fall down as you lean onto me

As you lie on my shoulder, the only place that you feel safe

There is always a place for you, you will never be replaced

You say that love has just never been there

You look around, but cannot find it anywhere

You are lost and you don’t know where to go

Because a place called home is a place that you have never known

So I am here to pick up the pieces of your broken heart

To put it back together so it can never fall back apart

To show you that there is a little hope

You are drowning in your sorrows, so I try to throw out to you a rope

Please hold on, I am diving in

This is just the beginning, it is not the end

I will remind you what it felt like with the smile on your face

Remind you of the glory of God’s grace

For He said they will hate you, but they hated Him more

His power is too big for you to ever ignore

Our kingdom isn’t here, but it is found in heaven

No matter what you have done, if you love Him He will let you in

For grace isn’t earned, it is undeservedly given

So to this sinful nature we can’t just give in

For He says He will release us into freedom

Bought out of slavery into His kingdom

So all this despair, anger, and hate

Will all be over when we walk into Heaven’s gate

Where we will be greeted by the Father and His Son

And His will, will be fully done
