Ignorance is Bliss

We send our prayers to God expecting them to be answered in an instant
So fast, we don’t take the time to listen
We speak our first words, expecting them to be His
But we’re moving so fast that we don’t even know what His will is
So how can we know if His will is what we follow
When all of our prayers seem to be so hollow
Trying to please ourselves and not God’s pleasures
Trying to live for all these earthly measures
Trying to flee from all of the storms
But maybe these are opportunities for His light to form
But we just want to live in the darkness
Just trying to satisfy our own selfish wishes
Like we can do it all on our own
While, in reality, it was only through Him that we’ve grown
But we just try to take all the credit
Never occurring that we only have it because God spoon fed it
But we continue to live so arrogant
And to this fact we are all so ignorant
Thrusting our judgement on everyone we see
Never looking at the men we came to be
We say that we trust in the Lord, but when the storm hits we fear
Like we have completely forgotten that He is here
So to us He calls our, “Ye man of little faith”
Because if we can’t trust in Him then the faith is fake
We are all racing to our lives peak
Never taking the time to listen to Him speak
So after it all His will we still miss
And our excuse is that ‘ignorance is bliss’
