The Prayer

Lord, save me from me

Release me from my own behaviors

Allow You to be all that I see

Allow me to set my eyes on my Savior

Free me from my selfish ambitions

All these actions to just better my lifestyle

Please change all my selfish intentions

For You are the only thing that can make me truly smile

Allow me to live by Your word

To be able to live for only You

For You are my saving Lord

I just want to do all that You want me to

Lord, when I get knocked down to the ground

Allow me to turn to you for a lift

Allow me, even in a crowded room, to hear Your sound

For prayer with You is a tremendous gift

Allow me to turn to You in the good and the bad

To go to You as I turn to a friend

Because You know the life I’ve had

And yet you still stick with me until the end

You know my triumphs and You know my struggles

You know my successes and my fallouts

You know these personas that I juggle

You stick with me through all the doubts

Please Lord, blind me of these earthly desires

All these things they tell me to pursue

Because they burn in me like an untamed fire

Starting to burn me all the way through

But you come to set the fires out

Come to rescue me from my own self

You are all I need, I couldn’t live without

Allow me to never let my Bible dust up on the shelf

Lord, let You be all that I hear

Allow you to be all that I see

For You are all that I love and all that I fear

And life with just me and You is how I want life to be

Lord, give me the strength to know what is You

Lord, please tell me what to do

Please give me guidance in this journey 

Lord, let me live for You all three

Live for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Allow me to know Your life and to mirror it

Lord, I just want to make you proud

And to scream Your name on a roof so loud

Lord, You are all that I need

Thank You for sending your Son to bleed

To go through torture and dismay

Lord, You will never betray

Lord, please purify my whole being

Until You are all that I am seeing

When we can live together for eternity, I can’t wait till then

And in Jesus’ name, amen
